WELCOME TO THE OAKRIDGE LIBRARY

The Oakridge Library Media Center is truly the heart of our school—a welcoming, central space where students gather to learn, explore, and discover a love of reading. Open daily from 9:10 a.m. to 3:48 p.m., the library supports both academic growth and independent learning for all students.

Students in Kindergarten through third grade visit the library once each week for a lesson and to check out books. Students in fourth through sixth grade visit every other week for lessons and checkout. During these visits, English Language Arts (ELA) skills are reinforced and taught in collaboration with classroom teachers, helping connect reading, research, and classroom learning.

Kindergarten students may check out one book for one week. Students in first through sixth grades may check out up to two books for a two-week period. In addition, students in grades one through six are welcome to visit the library during the week, as their class schedules allow, to return and check out books.

Overdue notices are sent home in Thursday folders. If a book is lost or damaged, a payment notice will be provided. Parents may send exact cash or a check to the school, or make a convenient online payment through the MyPaymentsPlus portal at https://www.mooreschools.com/parents1312.

At Oakridge, our library is more than just a place for books—it is a hub of curiosity, creativity, and connection where students grow as readers and learners every day.

If you have a passion for books and serving your school community please keep the library in mind for the 2025-2026 school year.  We have volunteering opportunities on a weekly or monthly basis and during our Book Fairs.

Let us hear from you and keep on reading!

LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Moore Public Schools library media program is to enable students and staff to become life-long learners and effective users of ideas and information. To accomplish this mission, library media specialists and classroom teachers cooperate in planning and providing units of study which integrate information skills with classroom content. Resources and activities representing a diversity of experiences and skills assist the students in becoming skilled users of information. The program also will emphasize the value of reading for pleasure and the appreciation and enjoyment of literature.
