School Creed, The Cub Way and School Spirit
At Oakridge Elementary, we are proud of the strong sense of community and shared expectations that guide our students each day. Our school creed is displayed throughout the building and is part of our morning announcements, helping students start each day with a positive mindset and a focus on doing their best.
The “Cub Way” is another important part of daily life at Oakridge. You’ll see it posted in many areas around the school, with different versions that reflect expectations for specific spaces such as entering and exiting the building, hallways, bathrooms, the cafeteria, library, and gym. These guidelines help students understand how to be respectful, responsible, and safe wherever they are. Our broader Cub Way also highlights what it means to be a CUBS student, reinforcing positive behavior and strong character.
Each month, we come together for our Sabercub Shoutout, a special time to celebrate our school community. During these assemblies, we recognize students of the month, highlight special events, and celebrate achievements across the school. We also proudly sing our school song together, building school spirit and a sense of belonging for all our students.

In August 2018, our new school mascot was introduced to the students at Rise and Shine. Names were suggested and then voted upon by the students. We'd like to introduce you to our school mascot...SCOUT!
